In 2024, the 4TU.ResearchData community took part in the following activities:

  • FAIR Data Fund
In 2024, we opened another call for researchers and research projects from all our partner universities: Delft University of Technology, University of Twente, Eindhoven University of Technology and Wageningen University & Research! In total, 8 winners were selected and received a budget of up to €5000 for their projects.

  • Community event
Our 4TU.ResearchData Community Day took place on 7 November 2024 in Utrecht. We met with fellow community members and connected over shared interests, technical updates, future plans and events. The theme of this community day was Empowering Community, Driving Change.

  • 4TU.ResearchData Roadshow
Building on the success of the previous edition, the “roadshow” series of events continued in 2024 with the aim of touring member institutions to strengthen our collaboration with both staff and students. The events were organised in collaboration with local Open Science Communities and were successful in bringing people together and engaging with the many members of the community!

  • Nexum
The NEXUM project held its exhibition, from 30 May to 2 June 2024 in Rotterdam. Nexum is a collaborative initiative between artists and researchers aimed at bridging the gap between art and data representation. The four days of the exhibition showcased the work of several selected artists working with researchers from the 4TU.ResearchData partner universities.

  • Data Hunters
Data Hunters was designed in 2024 as an interactive, team-based card game. The game is made for 8 to 40 participants and puts them in the middle of real-world dilemmas in research and data management. Players can take on roles such as researcher, data steward, ethics expert, or privacy advisor and collaborate with the team to tackle ethical dilemmas and data management risks.
